We are simple people attempting to explore our own vitality, our own deficiencies, wishing to find out how to reach across the abyss to our fellow human beings, to understand one another, to understand our context of community, to understand ourselves, to delve into the joy and pain of living so deeply and so lightly that our audience is provided with both the space and the impact to understand themselves. |

We begin rehearsals for a new original show with a blank slate. We only bring ourselves, all we have, to the rehearsal space. From there we explore, through physical, emotional, and narrative excercises, what it is that we have to bring, here and now, to our audience. The possiblities are infinite at that point. The rehearsal process chips away at what is not necessary, what is not important, leaving the seeds of what is most alive in each of us. At last we have a basic shape, a feel for characters, and a loose story. Then the game of writing, reaching, playing, honing,coloring, and cutting begins. That is the whirlwind we wishwould last forever. Eventually, inevitably, time runs out and we must share what we have with you. |
Our approach to creation is to open up the dark spaces within ourselves, touch things sleeping there that long for life, bring them up to breathe, see what they are, then twist and pull and weave them together into a strange and surprising vision of our humanity. |
